Essential Seating Shipment Policies
Please review our shipping policies and contact us as soon as possible with any questions or concerns. Our goal is to have policies that cover all the customer questions that may arise out of ordering from the Essential Seating ecommerce site.
Delivery and Shipping costs
The shipping price on our site are provided as a guide. Exact shipping costs will be sent to you after Essential Seating receives the online order. The shipping price will vary according to the number of products bought, their size and weight. This price may be different than the online estimate. The customer must agree to the actual shipping costs before the order is built.
Essential Seating follows the standard business practices of US shipping companies such as UPS and Averitt Express. Those policies follow the same general principles listed below.
Orders shipped via trucking company are shipped ‘tailgate’ whenever possible and when there is a delivery to a business with dock height facilities. If there is no dock on the customer premises, the truck will park in as area as close as possible to the delivery site which is both safe and can be used as the unloading zone.
The customer is completely responsible for unloading the shipment from the truck. The truck driver will not take on that task. If the truck is not unloaded within 30 minutes, ‘stand by’ fees may be charged by the trucking company and will be due and payable by the customer.
If extra shipping services are required such as ‘white glove’ service or ‘inside delivery’ please make Essential Seating aware of these needs, extra charges may apply for those services.
Essential Seating reserves the right to bill for additional shipping charges as a result of refused shipments or any extra shipping charges.
Efficient Shipping Practices
Essential Seating will always ship booth orders in the most safe and efficient way possible. It is possible that longer banquettes or unique shapes would be shipped in pieces. Each piece will be marked with an identification number so customers can assemble the shape onsite easily. Expect pieces to be in the 48inch to 60inch range allowing for easy manipulation.
Delivery time
All of our delivery times are estimates based on the availability of delivery trucks. Our quick ship products will ship in 8 – 10 business days. Classic products will ship in 12 – 15 business days. Essential Seating will not be liable for any damage, loss, fault, or expenses arising out of delays in shipment including any claim of consequential or incidental damages. All risk of missing the shipment date, time and delivery are assumed by the customer.
Shipping Damages
Essential Seating ships all our products F.O.B our shipping dock in Clearwater, Florida.
Once a freight carrier takes possession of a shipment, they sign and acknowledge receiving product in good order. Once in their possession Essential Seating is no longer responsible for the condition of the product(s) at time of delivery.
All common fright carrier deliveries require a signature on delivery of the shipment. It is imperative that the customer inspects the shipment prior to acceptance. If there is any visible damage (torn fabric, damages sides or backs, obvious signs of droppage, incomplete or missing parts or pieces, evidence of fork-lift abuse) the customer must note the damage on the bill of lading. It is the responsibility of the customer to fill a damage claim with the carrier. Essential Seating cannot be held liable for damages during shipment. The customer should notify Essential Seating of any shipment damage issues immediately on delivery of the shipment and BEFORE signing off with the carrier / freight company. It is the freight company or carrier that is responsible for shipping damages and they will reimburse the customer for their loss.
